Special Olympics Bharat (Gujarat) Anand organised district team selection of football and volleyball on 18th June 2019, Sunday at Mitra School, Mogri. Our 6 special athletes were participated in this selection. We were happy to announce Shameek Dhar was selected in the football team of Anand District. During this event our special athletes improve their physical fitness and enjoy a lot.

Social defence department of Anand district organised International Yoga Day on 21st June, 2019 held at Shastri Ground. Our children and youth with special needs participated in IY Day celebration with normal children & youth. Our special ones perform yoga very well as per given instructions. Normal children and teacher see our special ones performance and they met them with happy feeling.

Our special youth made Rakhi for the celebration of Rakhi. We organised Rakhi Exhibition in the popular colleges of the Anand district. N. S. Patel Arts Collage, C. P. Patel & F. H. We started swimming training with the help of Vidyanagar Town Club head coach shri Dharmendrabhai Gandhi. He trained children with special needs with the help of Rajendra Singh & Vikram Patel. It was gave very good impact on our children with cerebral palsy. They took hydrotherapy and release their muscles.

Our Special Children celebrated teacher’s day under the guidance of the Rajendra Singh. Director of the institution Shri Jignesh Thakkar glorious the occasion and explore the role of teacher and motivate the special ones to give Respect and Dignity to their “Guru” and each other.

Special Olympics Bharat organised “International conference on early childhood development for children with intellectual disabilities” our director Shri Jignesh Thakkar participated in this training.

Special Olympics Anand forming youth activation committee for the development of the special athletes as well as partners. We are happy to announce Shameek, Haresh and Dharmik were selected for the committee.

Dr. V. H. Dave Homeopathic Medical College & Rotary Club Vallabh Vidya Nagar organised Eye Check Up Camp at our institution.

Our special youth made Decorative Diya & Jewellery for the celebration of Diwali. We organised Diwali Exhibition in the popular of the Anand district. All schools & colleges were gave support for functional vocational training to our special youth.

Sports authority of Gujarat & Anand district Sports department organised Special Khel Mahakumbh 2019 which is conducted by Special Olympics and Supported by Gurukrupa Residential Special School managed by Sarvotkarsh Seva Sansthan. On 21st of October held at K M Patel institute of physiotherapy, Karamsad. 21 special athletes were participated in district level games. Our Special Athletes secured 6 First places, 6 Second places, and 7 third Places all Trustees give lots of congratulations to the winners and Govt of Gujarat gave them cash prize in their bank account.

Garba Celebration organised on 20.11.2019 by K. M. Patel Institute of Physiotherapy, Karamsad. Our special youth join this program and enjoy with the college youth. We always ready to inclusive program with normal schools & colleges for overall development of our special ones.

We celebrate every year world disability day on 3rd of December. This year our special children perform dance in the cultural program organised by K. M. Patel Institute of Physiotherapy, Karamsad.

Our special children dance with the non intellectually disabled children of Shri Shri Ravishankar Vidyamandir school on 7th of December 2019 held at Town Hall, Anand. Our special children learn different social skills sharing and learning a lot with their peers.

World disabled day celebration on 10th of December 2019 at Pinto’s School. Glory of our institute Shri Rakshit Patel was felicitating by the principal of Pinto’s School Shri Silviya Pinto. Rakshit Patel participated in Power Lifting Games in the World Summer Games 2019 held at Abu Dhabi. He shares their experience with the children of Pinto’s School. 6 to 12th standard Students took oath of inclusion from the website of Special Olympics for supports children with special need.

Special Khel Mahakumbh 2019 winners felicitated on 14th of December 2019 by district sports department held at Town Hall. Our Gold Medallist Srhi Rakshit Patel felicitated by District Development Officer Shri Vikas Sir.

Special Olympics Gujarat organised Special Khel Mahakumbh state games from 15 to 19 December 2019. Our 16 special athletes were participated in different Olympics type games. Our table tennis players Vraj Patel secured silver Medal and Jayraj Tatod secured bronze medals in state games of SKMK 2019.

Special Olympics Anand organised unified football training camp from 16 to 21 December 2019 held at V & C Patel English School. Our 9 Special athletes were participated in this camp with their partners of V & C Patel English School.

Pinto’s School celebrated kite flying festival on 13th January 2020. Our special ones are join with their children and enjoying kite flying festival.

Republic day celebration program organised by Anand Jilla Prashasan held at Umreth. Our world games player Shri Rakshit Patel felicitated by Shri Dinsha Patel member of BJP Anand with state level minister shri Rajendra Trivedi.

Bank of Baroda, Amul Dairy Branch, Anand gave air cooler for the children with Intellectually Disabled on 26th of January 2020. We are very thankful to Smt. Meenaben Bhatt and their colleagues of BOB.

Our special person Gaurav Patel’s Mama Shri Sandip Patel visited our institution and they are very happy to the work of our NGO. He gave T-shirt & sports shoes for all our special Olympians. Our Trustee Smt Poonam Thakkar very thankful to Shri Sandip Patel.

Special Olympics Anand organised unified table tennis training camp from 15th of March which was conducted by Gurukrupa Residential Special School managed by Sarvotkarsh Seva Sansthan. Athlete leader and youth leader came and join this training camp with special athletes of Gurukrupa School. One of our trustee & Special Olympics table tennis Coach Shri Mehul Thakkar conducted this camp. COVID 19 we forcefully closed our training camp due to government declaration of Lock Down.

Sir Jignesh Thakkar wants to activate and try to do fit and fine in this pandemic situation at home. 44 special athletes & coaches registered themselves form Gujarat. Special Olympics table tennis coach Mehul Thakkar gave training in world’s first virtual table tennis training camp. Youth leader Havya Thakkar gave technical support for this camp and special educator Rajendra Singh from Gurukrupa School gave supports to the special athletes.

Our institute organised virtual yoga training for our special ones. Our educator Shri Rajendra Singh trained them virtually.
